Open Studio as part of the Tacoma Studio Tour

Saturday, October 12, 11-5 pm, Merlino Art Center, 508 6th Ave, Studio 2, Tacoma

For local folks: On view are a series of new paintings that the Muses decided that I needed to make, some deal with our collective grief about the continuing violence in the Middle East, Congo, and Sudan, and the brutal bombing that our country is funding, the climate emergencies/disasters, and the increasing polarization and fear that frames the current political moment. As I process these uncomfortable emotions and this time of great change, I reach into the sacred (the animate world) to find grounding. A selection of the Dead Ocean Scrolls and some older work will also be on display. Everything is for sale. There will be a table with art supplies for people to respond to the work on display or to make their own healing imagery.
